Adventures With Bill

Leaving San José was a little delayed today as Bill decided the coupling (or something) for the steering wheel on his car needed replacing. If it snapped, he said, the wheel would just spin uselessly and we would plunge to our certain death. So we all agreed that a slow morning was in order to ensure our (relatively) safe return.

My breakfast... Gallo pinto, tortillas, cream, and plantains. It was called an "Economic meal" on the menu, and you get what you pay for... it was a me-sized meal. However, everything was delicious.

Walking around Alajuela... "You see that church with the two crosses? That's the church of the double-cross." Oh Bill.

It's a little-known fact that after the fall of the empire, Han Solo went on to pursue a spiritual course, helping others complete their Kessel Run to enlightenment.

Some bold squirrels in the park were begging for peanuts. 

Some not-so-bold squirrels were content just to watch.

I spotted this sister witnessing to some people in the park, so we walked over and introduced ourselves.

Her name was Evangelina, she's 98 years old, and a spry, zealous preacher. She kissed me and Charde's cheeks and said she hoped God would bless us.

The part that was between us and death... Charde said "Wow, good thing you got that replaced when you did! Jehovah knew you had precious cargo, Bill."

One of our stops on the drive home. Bill knows all the best places to fatten up. My chocolate macadamia nut milkshake was amazing.
