Stay Young, Go Dancing

Lou's here! He arrived yesterday and joined us for service and the pre-group meeting in Nicoya. We got ice cream afterward... a good end to a long, hot day, especially for him since he hadn't gotten to rest since he left Seattle. My Bible student Jacqueline wasn't able to study yesterday, but she agreed to come to the meeting with us and showed us where the best ice cream in town is. I don't think she understood very much of the meeting, but she commented on how nice everyone was, and she's looking forward to her study next Tuesday.

"Can I ride the horse? Can I ride the horse??" Laura was a bit hyper.

We'd been accumulating "Sassy Points" all day... Keysha has the best ideas. The deal was that everyone who exceeded ten had to do an interpretive dance at the time and place of her choice. Of course we all exceeded ten, and she decided that a field on the side of the road on the drive home after meeting would be the perfect place to do it. We danced in the headlights of the car for about 30 seconds as a motorcycle and a car went by, and as we left we saw that some of the neighbors had been watching as well. Being crazy extranjeros is fun.

Preaching in Spanish...sort of. This is Sabia, she's Italian and speaks an enthusiastic mixture of Spanish and Italian which we almost mostly understand. She let me take the doors, and between the two of us we somehow managed to talk to people. I placed 13 magazines in the 3 hours we went out because everyone is receptive.

The boy and his bird. It spoke snippets of Spanish in an elderly lady's cackling voice.

Kevin sat down at the bus stop to rest, and this dog sat down on his feet to rest.

Stay Young, Go Dancing is a song by Death Cab for Cutie
